Municipal Law - Having successfully served for four years as the Village Attorney in Monticello, the county seat of Sullivan County, Ms. Jose-Decker has the experience to deliver the highest quality legal services for the firm's clients, whether they be local governments, public officials or private citizens affected by municipal determinations. Applying the principles of collaborative consensus building, Ms. Jose-Decker provides the legal framework for her clients to move ahead toward progress, while helping them avoid the pitfalls of being stymied by personal and/or political agendas. Ms. Jose-Decker has served as general and special counsel for municipalities and has drafted local laws, prepared findings on land use and property matters, issued opinions on various municipal issues, guided clients through the SEQRA process and negotiated complex contracts including collective bargaining agreements. Ms. Jose-Decker has also defended and prosecuted lawsuits and appeals on behalf o f municipalities

Community Service - Long committed to community service, Ms. Jose-Decker is currently a Trustee and a Past Exalted Ruler of Monticello Elks Lodge #1544 ('07-'08), President-Elect of the Monticello Rotary ('09-'10), Treasurer of the Sullivan County Bar Association ('06 - present) and an immediate-past member of the Town of Thompson Democratic Committee. On the state level, Ms. Jose-Decker is currently a member of the Law Practice Management Committee of the New York State Bar Association and has served as a board member for the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence and is a past regional representative for Governor Pataki’s New York State Division for Women.
